The Swiss, who turns 35 in August, is still 184 victories record holder, Jimmy Connors (1256). If he kept pace with his previous seasons, it would take him three years to join the American. Federer now leads the Czech Ivan Lendl (1071). In 14 professional seasons he also lost 242 games, his winning percentage is 81.7%, almost the same as that of Connors and Lendl. The champion at seventeen Grand Slam titles won his first match on the circuit professional in 1998, in Toulouse, opposite the French Guillaume Raoux (6-2, 6-2). He will try Saturday to win his 1073 victory in Stuttgart semifinals, facing the young Austrian prodigy 22 years Dominic Thiem (ATP 7), who defeated the French Open David Goffin.
